
Chris Duyvelshoff
Crop Protection Advisor
Chris Duyvelshoff attended the University of Guelph and completed a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree with a horticulture major. Continuing at Guelph, he earned a Master of Science in Plant Agriculture where his thesis studied the use of plant growth regulators in apple production.
Chris has worked in roles supporting edible horticulture growers for the past six years. He began his career in agricultural extension in Nova Scotia, spending 5 years with Perennia Food & Agriculture as the provincial Tree Fruit Specialist covering all aspects of apple, pear, and stone fruit production. Returning to his home province of Ontario in 2017, Chris joined Syngenta Canada as a sales representative focused on horticultural crops in Ontario where his responsibility extended to fruit, vegetable, and ginseng crops. Having been involved in conducting research trials of new materials, working with growers on control recommendations, and representing a major commercial supplier, he is very familiar with the requirements for crop protection in horticulture.
