The Ontario Fruit and Vegetable Growers’ Association is now involved in a number of projects that reflect the healthy benefits of the produce grown throughout Ontario. One example is the Verified Health Quality Foods project, run by Gord Surgeoner of the Ontario Agri-Food Technologies organization. Another is the Ministry of Health Promotions’ Northern School Project, a joint effort with the OFVGA to provide healthy snacks to students in Northern Ontario. The OFVGA has also produced a publication called Healthy Benefits for All – a “roadmap” for improving the fruit and vegetable industry. (download pdf)
We’re building healthy benefits for Ontario’s fruit and vegetable farmers and the province’s citizens – one product at a time.
