The OFVGA provides input towards policy direction that reflects the needs of its membership in securing fair and equitable safety net programs.

The OFVGA has a position paper on the Agricultural Policy Framework (APF) knowing that the federal government will not be making major changes to its position. The OFVGA also understands and holds the position that flexibility with wedge funding/companion programs is essential. It will continue to push the two governments for the re-establishment of a Self-Directed Risk Management (SDRM) program or an SDRM-like program to cover off the crop insurance aspect of the APF. This is an integral part of the OFVGA position.
