The OFVGA, through its connection with the Labour Issues Co-ordinating Committee (LICC), is working on developing an Occupational Health and Safety Act for agriculture – something that will benefit all producers and workers in the horticultural industry. The Association played a key role in the establishment of the LICC, and works with the Farm Safety Association to address occupational health and safety concerns within the horticultural industry. As well, the OFVGA actively (and financially) contributes to the grower-funded organization called Foreign Agricultural Resource Management Services (FARMS). The Association was instrumental in its development.
